Hi! My name is Laura. I’ve been a massage therapist for 13 years, working in NYC and now in NC. I've had the privilege of working at high-end salons, spas, and hotels, alongside excellent chiropractors, physical therapists, and an occupational therapist. I love combining various techniques, including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and myofascial work, to provide tailored treatments that enhance circulation, promote relaxation, and relieve muscle tension. While I tend toward deeper pressure to address the root of an issue, I also enjoy offering a soothing and relaxing massage experience! I believe that God is your Ultimate Healer. My goal is to work out the “knots”, so that you can experience the homeostasis and rest that God has already provided and placed in you to heal and to flourish. Swedish
Swedish massage utilizes long, flowing strokes to ease tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation. This classic form of massage therapy is ideal for rest and relaxation. While Swedish massage can be quite gentle, it can also incorporate deep tissue massage techniques. I often use this modality as a foundation for most table massage sessions, including trigger point therapy.
Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve chronic muscle tension and improve mobility. Various modalities can serve as the foundation for this deep tissue massage technique. A range of methods, including Swedish massage and trigger point therapy, can be employed to penetrate deeply into the muscle tissue and effectively target problem areas.
Myofascial
Myofascial work can be approached in a couple of different ways, often complementing techniques like deep tissue massage or Swedish massage. Typically, this work is on the slower side and focuses on the superficial layer of fascia that covers the entire body. Think of what happens when you tug at one part of a t-shirt—how another part of the t-shirt gets pulled along with it. This myofascial technique aims to 'iron out' the superficial fascia, much like trigger point therapy helps release tension in deeper muscle layers.
